What the Pig Promised
A story drifting together through disparate fragments of memory, myth, and recursion—where a life becomes its own legend to fulfill.
It is a surreal tale of a village that forgets, a girl who stays, and the promise that refuses to fade, where confusion quietly settles into pattern and the design reveals itself only when the threads pull tight.

Dear Listener, fear not. A chorus entwined throughout space and time is never resolved at first echo.
The sky above Gratch Hollow is empty; no stars, no promises kept. Episode 1 opens the first thread of What the Pig Promised.
An audio restoration of a surviving fragment from the pre-divergence era: one of Ilra Wint’s stitched chronicles, rescued from a fragile and ancient page.
This entry, simply titled The Moment, records the earliest known account of the event that shaped Gratch Hollow’s fate — as preserved, interpreted, and catalogued long after Ilra’s time.
Not required listening before Episode 2, but intended to deepen your understanding of what Ilra believed was worth writing down.
The stitched chronicles of Ilra Wint were never meant to last, yet this page endured:
a quiet biographical fragment about Jon, a Goreborn unlike any other.
Restoration efforts recovered enough detail to preserve Ilra’s intent, though parts of the original text remain damaged or missing.
This companion episode presents that surviving account, offered to deepen the tale begun in Episode 1.
“Dear Listener, fear not. Each solution is but a variable in another sum; each shifts the balance of the whole.”
A child’s page in Ilra’s book reveals more than ink should hold. Episode 2 deepens the unraveling — not all found things are meant to stay.
A quiet companion to Episode 2.
In a letter never meant to be sent, Mareen writes to her late husband Richard—speaking of grief, of endurance, and of the small mercies that remain after loss. Through her words, we glimpse the life she has rebuilt, the child she has taken in, and the love that continues to shape her long after death.
This fragment deepens the plot, offering emotional context for Sara, Sister Tephra, and the unseen histories that bind Gratch Hollow together.
“Dear Listener, fear not. An equation does not balance until every variable is in place.”
Through seven lifetimes, the Hollow has remained constant. In Episode 3, the variables finally shift.
“Privilege accelerates until its velocity becomes terminal.
The impact destroys those who fed its mass, those in their orbits,
and all caught unaware within its radius.”
That warning becomes personal, as son and father are driven apart by ideology and a sacrifice that cannot be forgiven.
“Nothing’s ever truly gone, and nothing gained nor lost. It just transforms, unnoticed… forgotten… ’til it’s not. Like sickness, or a story, or a lifetime, or a plot.”
What is can never die. It transforms in the ashes of echoes.
Dear Listener, fear not. A deep freeze may still a river's surface, but in spring, it again becomes one with the undercurrent.

The sky above Gratch Hollow is empty — no stars, no promises kept. Episode 1 opens the first thread of What the Pig Promised.
“…for the Equation permits no lonely Variable. They must find balance in each other, or be nullified together, and with them all hope of salvation.”
— From the Book of Purifications, Chapter 2
Gratch Hollow burns, the pattern breaks.
The Stranger is pulled through a battle that no longer resets, where doctrine, memory, and lived experience collide.
Tephra’s legend fractures under pressure, and Sara’s calculations are no longer confined to the slate.
What remains cannot be understood from the ground.
